General

What’s the difference between handmade and custom-made clothes?

Ok, SO - handmade and custom-made clothes are both made by hand and made to order. The big difference is that custom-made clothes can be modified for fit or preference. 

For example, you might be petite or curvy and need modifications in the bodice, or extra length added to your dress if you’re tall. Perhaps you can’t stand buckles and prefer lovely little buttons instead. 

We offer modifications (see our list below) so you can customise your outfit to fit your body and personality.

What are some of the modifications I can request?

Your outfit should feel like ‘you’, right down to the style of pocket you prefer (trust us, it’s a thing). We offer customisations on:

  • Pocket types
  • Sleeves
  • Buttons/buckles
  • Length
  • Bodice/bust changes
  • Necklines
  • Size changes - we can upsize or downsize our patterns

Why do orders take 4-6 weeks to arrive?

We understand you need or want your order ASAP and we work efficiently so we can get it to you as quickly as possible.

BUT all our items are cut and sewn to order, which does take time. We’re a small, family-run business that takes care and pride in ensuring each piece is beautifully sewn before it’s packed up and sent to you. 

Why buy handmade clothes over ready-made fast fashion?

Choosing handmade means you'll get a unique piece of clothing made just for you. Time, care and attention have been paid to create a beautiful, long-lasting outfit (that fits!). 

You won’t just get your money’s worth; you’ll have something that feels great and will be proud to wear again and again.

Can I change something if I want it to be a little different?

Yes, we love this. For example, you might want to change up the sleeve or the pocket options on your dress. Tell us in the notes section of your order, or send us a message to confirm the changes you’d like to make.

What fabrics do you use?

We use 100% natural cottons for most of our clothing. We source fabrics that are Oeko-Tex 100 certified and the ink used to print on them is GOTS certified.

That means that the fabrics we use are certified to be free of over 100 harmful substances, often used in cheaper materials. Better for you and the planet!

Where are your clothes made?

All orders are stitched to the sounds of a T-Swift or reality TV marathon, in our Toowoomba QLD studio (AKA ‘the shed’). 

Do you do Afterpay?

We sure do!

Sizing

What size should I order?

You'll find the size guide on each of our product pages. It shows the finished measurements of all of our garments.

Compare your own measurements against the guide to decide which size is right for you – be sure to add some ease around your bust, waist and hips to allow for movement.

What’s ‘ease', we hear you ask? It’s a few extra centimetres to allow your clothes to move freely on your body and avoid feeling super tight. Usually about 3cm - 5cm for dresses and 8cm - 10cm for overalls (just enough room to allow for cartwheels).

Pssst…we’re also more than happy for you to send us your measurements so we can cross-check your size for you at our end. One of the joys of choosing handmade clothes!

I can’t see my size listed. Do you make other sizes?

Sure do, gorgeous. We currently offer XXS to 3XL in ou ranges but know this only serves some. If you can’t see your size, please reach out and we’ll customise an item just for you.

Shipping

Where do you ship to?

We offer a few shipping options

Australia Wide Shipping (including tracking)

$11 Flat rate fee across Australia.

International Shipping (including tracking) - we ship world wide! 

We've sent to countries worldwide, including America, Ireland, England, New Zealand and Taiwan, to name a few. 

$25 flat rate world wide (shipping times vary depending on country)

Local Pick Up - TOOWOOMBA QLD area

Local pick up is available in the Toowoomba region. Once you receive your fulfilment email, we'll be in touch to arrange pick up or drop off. 

How long does shipping take?

All of our clothing is made to order. Please allow approximately 3-4 weeks (sometimes sooner) for your order to arrive to you after it's placed.

If you're ordering during a pre-order round, please allow about 12 weeks.

We ship our parcels using Australia post and shipping times will vary across Australia. International post will be dependent on the international zone we send to.

How do I track my order?

You'll be sent an Australia Post tracking number with your fulfilment email. Use the Australia Post app or website to track your parcel.

Returns

Can I return or exchange an item?

Firstly we want you to be 100% happy with your Colour Pop custom made piece and we highly recommend checking the sizing charts on each product before ordering and double checking with your own body measurements.

We know that sometimes things don't always go right and mistakes can happen. We're happy to adjust your outfit if we get the sizing wrong but as everything is made to order, we do not offer refunds.

We are happy to exchange for the correct size (depending on fabric amounts we have or adjust your piece to fit). If you're happy to send back your item unworn and in original condition, we'll cover the rest. Please contact us as soon as possible (within 14 days of receiving your item).

How long does it take to process my return?

Please contact us as soon as possible (within 14 days of receiving your item). Once we receive your returned item, we will get busy adjusting for you. Production times may vary.
