Meet the artist - Rosie Browett

Hi, I’m Rosie Browett, a surface pattern artist who enjoys creating prints that are fun, colourful and vibrant. Currently, I’m slow-traveling Australia in a caravan with my husband, Matt, and our three boys.  Each week is a mix of creating art, adventuring to new places, homeschooling and tiny home living.

My inspiration for my art, started from my experiences growing up on the Hawkesbury River, barefooted, running through our bush block. Now I’m inspired by the things I see on our travels, walks in nature or exploring little charity stores for their pretty frocks and cute trinkets. This all then collects together within my imagination to form fun ideas, like playful animal characters in hats and tutus OR bright pink skies filled with watermelon rainbows. I have found a happy mixture of retro meets abstract floral and whimsical characters. Art that tells a playful story and has been loved on fabric collections, boutique homewares and greeting cards, just to name a few.

It has been a dream of mine to see my art on women’s clothing and I’m very excited to work with Anna on this project. To see two of my designs ‘Rosie’s Retro Floral and Watermelon Rainbows’ on Anna’s gorgeous, handmade overalls is truly exciting! The first day I put my new favourite pair of overalls on and wore them out, I had a big grin on my face. I felt like I was walking around with an AWESOME secret.  This was my art that I am wearing. It makes me happy to know that others will enjoy wearing it too.
